Save Our Sons - Virginia

This site is dedicated to educating the public, legislators, and the media about the laws that turn our boys and young men into sex offenders. Our legislators are loathe to change laws to treat these so-called offenders with a reasoned response for fear of losing votes. We at SOSVA hope that the citizens of Virginia will let legislators know that we want rational sex offender legislation based on evidence.

Please note ...

We do not in any way condone the sexual abuse of anyone in any way, shape, or form. We support appropriate punishment and treatment for offenders with increased penalties for those who repeat their offenses. We support reform of the sex offender registries so that the public can be aware of the presence of dangerous, predatory offenders while allowing the majority of offenders to move on with their lives. We support a system that allows offenders to move through registry levels as they demonstrate changed behavior. We support a system that provides specific restrictions for offenders on an individualized basis.
